Looking forward to meeting you in the spring! Just this afternoon, I picked the little guy up from school along with his radio controlled car (why he picked the Subaru STI over the Porsche, I will never know) and headed out to MMP to check on the rides. Man, that is like Christmas for me. We fired up both cars and the garage had that "Porsche smell" that I wish could be bottled as a cologne. Anyway, I am itching to get out there. Too bad the paddock was covered in ice and snow. My first scheduled DE is in March. I can't wait!

my v710s came to peices very quickly but that was 2years ago... i was very disapointed i barley got one weekend out of them.
i still think it was a manufacture problem nt the " tire " surley it was not me overdriving the tires..... lol
but i have heard a lot of good things about them scince

However, previously I ran the 245/30 and 285/30. The rears were toast after just two autocrosses. This happened to 2 sets.
I stopped running them due to the A6 Hoosier being faster on my car. The A6 doesn't last as long as the V710. I ran A6 for time trials, and they were very fast.

710 is good, but remember i have no trailer.
it's essentially like R6.
i would drive mpsc, RA1, r888 in street.
i dont use mpsc much, i hate them very much.
i use toyo's as my every day tire. i dont swap them out.
i really love to try hoohoo and 710's, but i need to get more wheel sets and leave them in my friends' trailers.

You really drive MPSC's year round? Aren't they pretty bad in the cold? Virginia has its share of freezing weather. Even my PS2's get slick when really cold. If the cups are no worse than the PS2's, it would be tempting.

MPSC need to be heat up to get grip, and they take a while to get good grip. On street driving, they're not going to heat up, unless you're driving on plenty of turns at high speed.
From 1 to 10, 10 being the best street tire and 1 being the worse, the PS2 gets 10, the MPSC gets 5 (3 on colder weather).
Another problem, MPSC will get heat cycled before the tread is wore out. You could be running on the streets with less grip than a Kia Rio.

I agree with NJ-GT re MPSC as a street tire. Been there, done that and it's generally not a good idea. Grip sucks if they don't heat up and they very rarely do that on the street (plus there's the issue of only having so many heat cycles and them becoming dead long before the tread wears out). Also, the sidewalls are much stiffer than PS2's, so the ride quality on the streets where I live goes from bearable (PS2) to horrible (MPSC). My experience was that it's not a good idea to use MPSC as street tires.

I finished the 2006 track season in my WRX with MPScups and left them on all winter in Chicago. I din't buy new PS2s until spring because I wanted fresh rubber for the 2007 season. They totally sucked in snow and I had to drive 10 - 15 under my usual speed. But in 35 deg. and up they were just fine. I wont try this again but it was a fun experience. I ended up driving the tow vehicle alot last winter. (Without the trailer it sucks too, in the snow)
