2004 Arctic Silver GT3, original owner purchased in August of 2004. 10,300 miles. Around 2400 on the track. No issues just routine maintenance. I have changed the oil every 5000 miles, and tightened the swaybar bolts once. I have put pagid 19's on and got some Champion wheels for track days.

almost 18K miles with about 4K+ track. On 2nd set of cup rotors now toast along with the RS19's on the front, will replace F&R in the spring w/ 29/14 set and new cup rotors. Not a drip on the garage floor.

SSSSHHHHH..... no repairs only brakes, tires and maintenance.

2nd owner. Purchased July 2006 with 5000 miles. Car now has 12,800 miles, with 3,000 on the track. Only problems have been a popped off coolant hose and catalytic converter problem which my Durametric tool helped diagnose. Both covered under warranty. Other than that, just replace the usual consumables - brake fluid, tires, pads and front rotors. I will say that my *new* smooth driving technique is not only faster, but prolongs the life of the consumables.

Without question, this is the best toy that I have ever owned.

~10,750 miles on my 7/03 build GT3. Maybe 140 track miles total

Significant problems to date...
-RMS replaced twice. Been dry since 9/05.
-Minor coolant leak from a coolant control valve

Otherwise just consumables... tires and brake pads.

04 SY, first owner: 15k miles, 100 on track ( i was an idiot): no prob, just needed more track miles

05 CW, first owner: 18k miles, 5500 on track (i got smarter): no prob, zero, windshield major crack, it ate a large turkey as it tried to get out of my way, not joking, scare the &)$%*)(#^*)_ out of me.

04 CW, 2nd owner, first was an acquaintance: 20k miles, 5000 track miles, some by me some by first owner: AC died as the car ate a squirrel.

04 CW, 3rd owner, i know the previous two owners: 7500 miles at time of purchase. 1000 track miles maybe? will get a LOT more. problems.... it better not have any.

mooty - you are back in a 996GT3? I thought you were 997 GT3RS and had moved on to bigger and "better" things? Must have missed that.

I'm quite similar to Rob!

2nd owner, bought with 24k miles. now has 33k miles, 50% track.

Replaced coolant hoses (4 times). I bitched the dealer so much that now every parts in coolant system that are made out of rubber are brand new! Last two track days, it didn't blow anything up anymore. But, I'll have to wait and see when summer comes.

Car is amazing to drive!

Bought my Mk1 with some 20k miles; now has 45k miles and 99% of the time it is driven either on the track or to and from the track (I'm lucky to live only 1 hour from Spa...), so I guess over 50% of my miles is on the track itself. The engine seems truly indistructible, but I have found the gearbox to be the Mk1 achilles heal : on 2 occasions I had to replace some internal parts, mainly syncros and 2 bearings - and that is despite adding a radiator to the gearbox. I replace the Cup LSD plates each year as a matter of routine. I have changed all wheel bearings last year as a precaution at 40k (you could only hear some wear with some sort of stethoscope) and did the same with a number of water coolant hoses (few things are as embarassing as causing a crash on a track after losing 10 liters of coolant...).

I have replaced the standard discs at the front with Alcons, which last MUCH longer. I have also replaced almost the entire suspension with Manthey parts, not because I had to, but because I wanted even better steering than standard.

Car feels like it is made of granite.
