I had this problem a while back. It was the diff that was shagged. New diff, and left pull gone.

Adrien: How did you repair the dif? Rebuilt, new, if new, which one.
Thanks

I went for a new plasma-nitrided cup diff supplied by JZ Machtech (www.jzmachtech.com). The benefit of plasma-nitriding is the diff becomes silent and it lasts [much] longer. The new diff seems smoother in action (side effect: it's much easier to not stall the car in reverse), is silent, and seems more effective in overall operation (lock is sooner/more progressive).

How many miles did your cars have on them before dif failure?

Mileage will vary massively depending on the kind of use. Mine was changed for the first time at approx 40k miles, but that's because of a lot of my mileage has been accumulated on motorways, not on track.

I know others who have worn out their diffs in under 10k miles... their mileage was mostly on track.

I live in the mountains so test driving this time of year is tough. I check pressure once I got home and had 32 up front and 42 rear. I knew this was off but front to rear not side to side so did not think it could be a problem.
Sort of new to rennlist so not sure who or how to pm dell, thanks for the help I am nervous about this problem, but dealer say they will fix just can't do much now since weather and snow are here for the next 6 months!
Thanks guys
Did you get this GT3 from a Porsche dealership or some other? Regardless, from your description it doesn't sound like they are "great" to me. If they did all they said it should have been fine when you bought it.

Tire pressures for the recommended street tires at room temp (cold) are;

front: 32 psi
rear: 39 psi

no they are good guys and p car owners snow and cold temps makes for a tough test drive. they sent it to p dealer and they did work and a ppi and said all good. weather did not allow a drive until I picked it up, and then still a little ice and 20 degree weather. it would take a better driver than I to take it through the paces in those conitions. I believe they will stand behind getting it dialed in.

checking the differential is done in the garage up in the air. Takes 2 minutes. If the friction plates are gone completely it will take longer to jack up the car than to do the test.

Yep, if it does spin the next step it to hold one wheel still while spinning the other. I do not know the real test but the techs will put a torque wrench on and measure the amount to break free. When mine went out the two had no interaction.

Same with me. My car was not going straight on off the line take offs and a new set of rear tires solved the problem. Since the dealer was involved trouble shooting your issue I'd guess they would have picked up on a bad set of tires.
