Using flash-to-pass lever to sound the horn
996 GT3...
With my quick release steering wheel, there's now no switch for the horn. A horn is required to pass inspection in Texas. Adding a new switch/button for it seems somewhat ugly. I've heard that it's possible to make the flash-to-pass lever activate not only the high-beam headlights (when you pull it towards you), but also to sound the horn at the same time...and that this is doable in the fuse box.
Anyone have any experience with this?

I hooked up the horn button with my removable steering wheel. I bought a 1/4" phono jack (male and female ends) and wired the female end into the center of the quick release hub on the steering column and put the male part into the quick release on the steering wheel. I put a momo spacer (that came with my wheel) under the horn button to give me enough room for the connection.
When I put the wheel on, I have a working horn with no extra wires or buttons.

Very clever! I just might try that.
