If you drive south, make sure to go through Napa. Take 20 West off I-5 and then 29 South. You can then go to TRG and visit Austin and buy goodies for your new car.

I may just do that drive to TRG, but how much more stuff does it need?....Im debating driving down to Lake Havasu where I spend a week with my parents down there..I can then have it shipped back to Ohio. Where I can learn to drive on Mid Ohio course, Putnam Park Road Course, VIR, Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, and a few others....

If you have not found a transporter yet, I have one delivering my car to Rennsport Systems in Portland due into Portland Monday, 26 Nov 07. His name is Kim Miller, 109 Transport. Sure. It was an enclosed trailer with all the lifts etc...nice rig. He was hauling a stroked 12 cyl Jag, another jag, another 911, and a supercharged GT500 Shelby.
It cost me $ 1500.00 from St. Louis, MO to Portland ,OR- 1 week del + Thanksgiving of course.
Passport (which is now owned by FedEX and is a POS company IMHO,) wanted $ 1760.00 and 2-3 weeks del.
Horseless Carriage, Intercity, and a couple others were in the $ 2000.00 up range.
The only cheaper one was this guy PC BEAR Trucking, he quoted IIRC around $ 1400.00, but i wasn't sure of his references.
Kim was referred to me by Fred at Concours, because Fred is buried in work and couldn't make the pick up as planned.

in 2004 i used thomas sunday transport. big nice enclosed trailer. contacted me when he left KS, and called me when he's 1 day away then kept me informed every 4-5 hours until he dropped off. iirc it's b/n 1000-1500, but that was in 2004.

Sounds like a great lead, thanks...I hear the cheaper quotes usually mean they drop off cars in lots and then move them from truck to truck, until it gets to its destination. I want to drive her home, but in the dead of winter...not a great idea...snow, hail, salt, speeding tickets...

Mooty- I checked with Thomas Sunday, it was $ 2200 from MO to OR.
Times have changed A LOT since 2004. and yes, gas prices are effecting the trucking industry weekly.
BTW, Kim actually arranged the cars so mine would not have to be moved until it reached Steve @ Rennsport Systems. He sleeps with the cars at night (in his cab), or else keeps the truck in a locked yard at his place in AZ. Top notch.
