One thing to keep in mind is that BOTH the driver and instructor had glasses. Only the driver was hurt. The driver had an open face helmet and the instructor did not. The driver's glasses were jammed into his face. On the instructor/passenger side, the airbag deployed with enough force to crack the windshield. There may be issues with airbags on the track, but to me this also speaks volumes about wearing a full face helmet too.
