05 GT3 potentially for sale; value?
I have only had the car for two months and absolutely love it, but am thinking about selling. The foremost being, that after one track event, I am getting hooked and this is simply too nice a car (for me) to track regularly and I'd prefer a higher mileage example that might already have appropriate mods on it.
Opinions on value?
Here's the lowdown:
MY 2005 with 8400 miles, 2 owners.
Carrara White
Full Black Leather
Red Deviating Stitching
Carbon Door Sills
Carbon Center Console
Xenons
Silver Gauges
Cruise Control
Thicker Steering Wheel
GT3 Logo on Storage Compartment
Mods:
Carbon Shifter (OEM Factory)
Carbon Dash Strip (OEM Factory)
TRG Rear Toe Links
TRG Monoball Rear Shock Mounts
4 and 8 degree wing shims
Other:
New Advan Neova AD07's (300 miles)
New Front Cup Rotors (300 miles)
Fresh Alignment
Fresh Motul Brake Fluid
Fresh Oil and Filter Change Mobil 1
New windshield due to rock damage
All documents, service records, window sticker.
Pictures posted: if anyone is interested I can email large scale pics.

VERY NICE !!!
Your car has more options than mine ... and I paid $83K back in March ... albeit with only 4900 miles and no track time. I'd say it's easily worth $80K to $85K. There was only like 33 or 34 (IIRC) carrara white 6-GT3 imported to the US.

the car is worth around $80k.
if you find the right buyer i am sure you can get 85k.
but the market for that car is 78-80k.
i am not sure if you want to get a "lesser" car to track.
if you are thinking of buying something like NJGT's car, that would make sense, or full on race car.
if you want to buy a 993 964 and mod up to track, you will end up not saving much imo. i have made that mistake several times already.

Something like NJ GTs car would be a good candidate. I've had a 964 and a 993 and would prefer to stay with a more modern car, for street and track. It depends what comes up, but at this point, I won't be back on the track till spring '08 so if this one sells I can look for something over the next 6 months.

i'll give you some $$$ figures and you can use that to see what makes sense: too keep your car, drive it, mod it or swap it to a modded car.
moton cs, with springs and proper set up inc monoball uppers is about 6-7k.
roll bar, painted installed 2k
R&P 4k+
seats, dont forget to inc sliders and brackets $3k
belts and misc 1k
if you more heim joints to replace rubber bushings, just add more money.
both journeys will be loaded with fun. keep us posted.

Judging from the reaction, it looks like a range of 80-85K. I'd consider selling it in the middle of that range, if anyone here is interested.

That 2005 996 GT3 with less than 10,000 miles, with full leather, a no track time is definitely on the $80k-85k.
Good decision, you can either expend another $15-$20k on upgrades on a $80k-$85k pristine car, or get a well maintained track car with those upgrades, and keep $20k in your pocket.

I would think sales tax alone would just make it worth keeping the one you've got and you'd eliminate the risk of inheriting someone else's potentially troublesome car.

Normally that is a consideration but I know a dealer who will help me with that situation. In addition, a potential buyer wil have the opportunity to get this car certified.
