They come in finished "GT3 white," as in the white color a 996 GT3RS is painted. It is a lighter, brighter shade of white than Carrara white. You might not notice the difference, but I can. I paid $500 for the respray in Calif. The GT3 cup bumpers come in primer.
Also, that $2254 you were quoted is more in line with the price a regular GT3 "non-RS bumper" goes for. Any dealer can get one of those. There are only a hand full of places in the US you can get an real RS bumper from, and most have already been mentioned in this thread.

That would be incorrect. I bought this from a local dealer who knows what he is doing. Same folks that I've bought two turbos, a carrera, and a gt-3. I bought it by giving him the part number, not a description. The part number is 996-505-980-92-900. The list price for the GT3 RS bumper is 2,204.67 - I'm looking at the invoice. There were two available in the USA, one it Atlanta which I purchased and another on the West Coast. There were none available in Germany right now. So, this is an OEM GT3 RS bumper cover.
Interesting comment regarding the white. I'll check it out when it gets here Monday.

Reason: more info.
I thought the OEM RS rear spoiler came in carbon fiber ... not painted carrara white???

Scott:
The RS front bumper would look good in white. Contrast of the black grille will show more on light color. I got my RS bumper after my little incident earlier this year.

OMG that looks so damn NICE!
I think I have heard something about having a body shop cut the holes into a regular non-RS bumper ... is this really a viable option? If so, is it just as good / the same difference ... or better to just buy a new bumper? Anyone know a comptetent, experienced shop for this?

I used Golden Hammer Auto Body in West LA. Highly recommended. Ask for Mike O.
Caveat: once you have anything other than factory finish on the nose you will get chips....from rocks that would not chip factory finish. No body shop can replicate factory hardness, as I've been informed. Therefore you will also have to do clear bra....

I really thought my RS was Carrara white, whereas the other white was Carrera white?

IIRC there is no such thing as Carrera White. Just Carrara white. Even though they sound very close, once is a "race" and the other is a locale with world famous white marble.
