What are 996 GT3's going for?
I will be selling my 2004 GT3 in October and I'm looking for pricing advice.
It's super clean, black on black, red seat stitching, red belts, silver console, wheel, dials. Never been tracked, 11k miles.
I purchased HRE 890R 19" custom painted centers (Black) from Wheel Enhancement a few months ago. Paid 8k with tires. They look great.
I also have the stock wheels with 80% life left on the tires.
What do you guys think is the current market price?
Thanks.

Better off selling your wheels/tires separate. You won't get that back. However, it might very well help seal a deal for you.
Without knowing too much, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to get 75K.

I have seen a recent upsurge in strong no stories 996GT3 prices as compared to early summer. Ask prices are higher and it seems as sell prices are as well. Don’t cut yourself short. $80K is a nice number to start off with. A lot of car for the money. Look around and see.

As much as I would like to see somebody get 80K, I have to agree with Supermonkey. The cars are trading more often closer to 70 than 80 these days.

I have been shopping too and I agree prices are firming up for the no stories low mileage cars. Black is a desirable color but I think that 10,000 mile milestone pulls the price into the 72-75 range personally. I know of two 4000 mile examples that traded at 76 and a 3000 miler at 78000. Best of luck and keep us posted.

Just a price point ... a friend of mine picked up an '04 with 19k miles, pccb, a ton of carbon (I know , who cares), extended warranty to 100k miles, a few track days from a novice driver, for 65k about 4 months ago.

Mine is exactly same with few autoX instead of trackdays. Paid $72k back in June. I feel like I overpaid. Got my favorite color tho.

I have been looking for a few months...and I have to say above 10k in miles I have gotten sellers down to $68k, CPO. It comes down to time. if you have time to wait on the right buyer, or do you want to sell quickly. I am waiting till the winter when these cars don't move too much. I feel I can get a better deal.
I don't mind a GT3 with 20k plus miles, if its a CPO car. I perfer Yellow or White in the $68-$70k range. if anyone knows of one.

Low miles cars are strong on the low 80s. High miles cars are on the high 60s.
The market is firming up on the 996 GT3. A few factors:
1) The 997 GT3 prices are staying strong on the 6 digits numbers, so there is a big price gap between the 996 and 997. Pretty much a $45k gap used 997 vs. used 996
2) The 996 GT3 is showing to be as fast at the track as the new car, pretty much it's driver dependent.
3) It just won the 2007 SCCA Solo and ProSolo Nationals. From my years autocrossing, everytime there is a dominant car in the top class, everybody goes shopping for that car. At least 20 will be going to local SCCA Solo drivers in the next 6 months.
4) Supply is limited, Porsche sold only 960 in U.S. during 2003-2005. They keep getting wrecked.
5) There are more 997 GT3 for sale than 996 GT3 for sale.
Tampa, I would not sell that car under $75k, and I would settle for $78k if there is no hurry. Sell the car with the stock wheels, and sell the wheels on RL, ebay, PCA, 6speed.
Mine will go for sale with 35k miles for low 60s, and a few nice upgrades. I'm shopping for the substitute car first.

Those are some low priced examples above. But to counter that... Just today a personal friend purchased a strong no stories 2004 8K mile speed yellow with euro seats, bolt in techquipment bar, converted AP rotors and ext warranty for $84K. He picks it up Wed.

Well he may not have paid that much over if you break it down: let's say 2k for the seats, if it's a Euro teq bar it's worth another 2k esp. if it has harnesses, the CPO is worth 2k and the rotors are worth 500 bucks? So that's $6500 off the 84k so he's at $77500 which isn't too bad. I think cars bought from a dealer are going for a little more and if the car is CPO it may have been a dealer transaction. My point is simply the buyer paid well and maybe he didn't get taken.

Sorry Dave, but you can't look at it that way. Did he also get the OEM seats? Did he order the Teq bar with the order? If not, that can be had for $995 new from Sunset. The CPO runs $1500 and should be a selling point rather than a add-on.
Like I said, I'd love for it to be so, but it just isn't.
