Default GT2 Ducts

I asked my shop to replace my brake ducts with cup ducts to reduce the fading I was getting at RA. They installed GT2 ducts. Does anybody know if there is a difference? Pics?

Cheers

I wasn't looking for the p/n's for me but rather to help you figure out which one's they did in fact install on your car. If you have your invoice it should have that info on it.

the invoice said GT2 brake ducts. No part number. What I am trying to establish is the difference (if any) between them and cup. Does anyone happen to know?

Much appreciated

I have no idea what the "GT2" ducts are so I can't tell you if they are better or worse. There has to be a part number. My suggestions would be to jack up the front and get the P/N off one of the ducts. Heck, even take a pic while under there. I'd be happy to post a pic of mine if you like. I have the "Cup" ducks.

there are several types
you need the GT3 RS ducts in front which are two pieces riveted together. the rear ducts are the GT2 ones

Tom, the RS ducts are NOT the one's I would want. They are in fact SMALLER.

However, it depends on the application. For me, the cup ducts were best since they are the LARGER of the 2-piece riveted ducts. The RS ducts are actually SMALLER than the regular ones.

Here is a listing of the 3 options:
(as duct gets larger, clearnence gets smaller)
RS=smallest
Regular=medium
Cup=large

Default Pics and numbers

OK so the part number off the duct is: 996 341 118 90.

Here is the pic:

Good job! You got the "right" ones for the track.....Cup ducts. Not sure why your invoice says GT2 ducts. FYI....here are the part numbers for the OEM, RS, and Cup ducts.

996.341.117.91 GT3 left
996.341.118.91 GT3 right

996.341.117.92 GT3RS left
996.341.118.92 GT3RS right

996.341.117.90 GT3Cup left
996.341.118.90 GT3Cup right

Oh Tom, you know you're welcome here anytime. No need to ban you to the TT forum. Besides, you actually track your car unlike the rest of your turbo brothers

thanks Dell, must admit most dont get their cars to the track (probably like the majority of porsche owners!). There are a few hard core track junkies on our board, all of us wishing we could be as fast as those damn GT3's!!!!
