I installed the console delete kit quite a while back.... many thanks to RockitMan for his DIY. Since then my center console has been a little loose. When I shift into 2-4-6 the console moves up a little, perhaps 3/16" of an inch??

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something I missed during the install perhaps?

If you performed the console delete install correctly, the center console should not be loose as you describe. It should be solid as a rock.

So, either you missed something or perhaps one of the torx screws has come loose.

If the front of the center console lifts on hitting 2-4-6, then I'd check the little torx just in front of the shifter.

 

Curt, your console could be loose for many reasons, but I'd check screw #6.

 

Great diagram, thank you. I found the offending screw! Unfortunately it's stripped. Off to fix it now...

I replaced screw number 6 and it hasn't fixed the problem entirely. It appears that the mount for screw #6 moves a little with the shifter. I suspect this is normal, but would appreciate comments from others with the console delete kit.
