Juha,
Thanks for the pics!!.... It looks like your 34R battery has "wings" such that it snugs into the OEM bracket from one side and the 964 mount holds it down nicely at the other. The 34/78 doesnt have those ...I'll just have to sell my battery and go for a 34R or maybe a 25/75....

As for now I'll live with the GMG bracket... which I don't like...

Anyone know how much weight these batteries save, and how much less charge they hold?

Trying to work out if they are worth considering. Also anyone know which is the correct Odyssey?

Just finished an install of the optima 34R. I used the 964 hold down part as noted by Juha but instead of modifying that part I did something just a bit different. My son took my digital camera so sorry for no photo. When using the 964 part you can't use the original battery tray hole to secure it because the 964 part is too big. But if you try using the next hole then the 964 part is too far from the battery. So, place the factory original hold down right up against the battery, then position the 964 hold down on top of the original and screw it down. I think it works OK.

For what it's worth:

before you get too far along, take out the stock "tray". it's stunning how heavy it is........

i crafted one out of plexiglass and it worked great!
