Best aftermarket muffler?

I had aftermarket mufflers on my 04 GT3 and I saved 5 lbs. each one for 10 lbs total. The car sounded good, but I couldn't hear all of the mechanical sounds of the car like I could with stock mufflers. A GT3 should sound better than the way it comes, and the mufflers weigh too much, but I still like to hear the engine and other things that I couldn't hear with the Fab Speed mufflers. Any suggestions on mufflers for my 05 GT3? Teckart or Ruff or Shniel or ?

I doubt if you'll ever find a comparo on these systems, that is, testing on a dyno for actual power increases. They all reduce weight in the rear, which is good. It's mostly about the sound, and that's very subjective.
In my case, EBS Racing had this used set for sale on ebay. I think I paid $750. So, in my case, it was about the $, but I was lucky in that I really do love the sound.

Wish I could say I was smart enough to have jumped on it right away. I saw the listing, and asked another Rennlister what he knew/thought about the set. He bought them before they disappeared to someone else as he recognized them to be a smokin' deal. He was good enough to sell them on to me, but kept telling me that if I didn't like them after all, he was more than willing to buy them back. No deal, they're mine. (As it is, he sold his 996GT3 in favor of a 997GT3.)

Exhaust system-only look for liteweight/cost and decent sound but never looking for hp value. What part of rev spectrum your missing with Fabspeeds(equates to u not listening to mechanical part of engine?)? Mike

Mike, all I could hear at higher rpms was the muffler roar that drowned out a lot of the engine and drivetain noise.
By the way, is anyone out there selling their 996 GT3 and parting out a set of aftermarket mufflers for a reasonable price?

Europipe is excellent. But the best sound is Kreis-sieg.

I hear the RSR mufflers from Robin Sun are now available for the GT3 ... anyone know anything about this option for these cars? I have them and love 'em on my 993. ![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)

Are these the Japanese RS*R mufflers? I had a set on my near-400 hp RX-7. Works of art. Didn't know they made any products for European cars.
