My Mk. I whent in today for fitting aftermarket stainless steel sport mufflers together with the OEM Tequipment tail pipes (large bore ones) and believe it or not but it wouldn't fit!

The flange on the muffler and tailpipe don't match in size/diameter (outer edge) so the clamp is a few millimeters too big as the muffler flage is the smaller of the two. The angle on the flange also appear to be slightly different.

Appreciate any ideas for a fix.
