In addition to what has been said, certain unlevel parking conditions can cause the oil to pool and then slowly get into the combustion section of the cylinder(s).

Try and having someone start the engine while you watch the exhaust and see if it is isolated to one bank of cylinders?

Are you sure you don't have too much oil in the engine?

-What everyone else said!

I do tech inspections for our PCA chapter, so shuffle my Porsche in and out of the garage with the engine cold. On both my '88 and my '07 GT3, blue smoke at startup has been common - apparently, on the basis that horizontal cylinders don't allow oil to drain into the crankcase like in-line motors do. Not something I worry about!
