Great vid! I saw that video last year and forgot where it was posted but the one I saw actually had translated subtitles and there was one place where the 430 says "damn that GT3 is fast".

recent experience gt3 v 430
A few eeeks ago I had a firsta hand experience with my mark1 gt3 against a 430. The other guy was alone in the 430 I had a 200lb friend of mine in the passenger seat. My mark1 gt3 has the rsc400 kit by roock, and H&R suspension, normal sp2s by michelin. The 430 driver could not catch me under any circumstances, he was really not expecting this! FWIW

I just love these two. It's probably a repost - Old as hell and everyone seen it. But still brings a smile

I had fun playing with a 430 Spyder at the track a few weeks ago. We were running full track at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah (4.3 miles, 23 turns, with a .8 mile front straight). He was a nice guy, but VERT competitive. So much so, that he would not let me by for 7 laps (the entire run group session). Anway, I decided to take the opportunity to fall back here and there to test the accelleration of his car. My favorite thing to do was come out of turn 23 onto the front straight riding his rear bumper, but low on my torque curve. At that point, our speeds were @ 65mph. I wanted to do a real "apples to apples" comparison. With his F1 shifter, he would pull away very slightly as we got over 100mph and up to the high speed of 150mph before downshifting and taking Turn 1 (sweeper) at about 70-75mph. I was VERY pleased with the 996 GT3's ability to keep up. It was evident that he had more horsepower, but it was not enough to really run away. Let's just say that looking at that car from rear at 2-3 car lengths over 30 minutes was a treat. The guys in the pits liked it too... Lots of them lined to walls to watch us fly down the front straight. They told us later the sound of the 2 cars (okay, it was the Ferrari) was incredible. I wish I could have been watching!
430s are certainly fine art, but I love my GT3!

I never understood the desire to keep someone behind in a non-race environment with passing rules. The guy behind is helpless and can't pass and everyone already understands that he is faster otherwise why would he be behind you.

Exactly. It ticked me off for the first lap (23 turns is a long time to ride someone's bumper) but then I relaxed when I realized that I was following such a beautiful performance car and I'd have an opportunity to test his acceleration. With that said, I was sure to leave the pits before him during our next session...

That's why you politely have a chat with him in the pits and explain that while you admire his skill, bla bla bla, it would be appreciated if the passing rules were followed. That way EVERYBODY has open track.
