Default Squeeking Suspension

The past few times I've driven my 996 GT3 on the street, I've noticed that as I slowly go over bumps (speed bumps, entry to driveways, etc) something in the suspension squeeks loudly. It sounds like a 1974 Buick LeSabre.

I plan to have the dealership check it out, but was curious if any of ya'll had experienced this.

The front sway bar is generally the culprit in my experience but I never could find a way to make it go away and stay away so I just let it squeak. It is just part of the experience!

Thanks. I don't mind the noise if it's innocuous. The sound my car makes is almost as cool as how it drives!

I just wanted to make sure it isn't a warning of something that could effect the safety of my car.

you can easily check the torsion bar links by turning the wheels to opposite lock and looking in behind the wheel...they could be loose...actually when you don't hear the squeak it usually means they have come completely loose...

Aha, what you are saying makes sense. I recently had my front sway bar tightened. That probably explains why I now hear the squeaking.

Hi - I had the same problem but with the rear links which had seen better days, thus allowing the bar to move a bit- so in effect I had the oopositre problem (loose bar) but the same result - quick fix either way!

My father in law has 2 Buick LeSabres. They can give you a major pucker experience in a high-speed corner (30MPH will do it)! However, on the highway, it is pretty hard to beat the Dynaride suspension.
