Default GT2 fabspeed muffler bypass pipes.

Have just ordered the above, was wondering the general concensus on eardrum damage limitation!

I had the bypass pipes on my GT3, but found I could not live with them.
I know the turbos will soak up some of the aggression, but how much?

Weight saving and increased torque (with map) + spool up should make this a worthwhile purchase.

Car currently is running a europipe stage 2 loud, with custom made 96mm tips (c/o Stef) + extreme Mitchell (Revo) map.

I know it seems a wild move to switch to these, but having heard a 993gt2 with same setup, found it hard to resist the fabspeed phone call.

Default bypass

Hmmm. I wonder how this would work with my current GT700 programming on my GT2? Any sound clips? I like the weight improvement. It shouldn't be any louder than the muffler bypass on my previous GT3. Tempted.

At my local dealer, Foreign Cars Italia, they had a GT2 with bypass pipes (or so far as I could tell from looking underneath the car). I am unsure of the make or differences, but the car was very loud. It was in the shop getting standard service done. Car sounded nearly identicle to the 993TT bypass videos posted on these forums. Its very deep and basey, loud, but overall sounds very good. Sound was very compirable to a 3.8L NA aircooled with no exhaust. The turbo should be slightly muffled compared to the GT3 because of the turbo's.

Hope that helps some - there are videos of 996TT's with bypass pipes, and I am assuming your GT2 should sound the same.

Seems that I will have to run stock tips with this system, instead of the straight pipes.

Thanks to Joe and Jeremy at Fabspeed for sorting out the pipe issue. Also cheers Joe for doing me a very special price on the X50 tips.

I have them, 100 cell sport cats and 9 inch exhaust. It sounds incredible but it's glass breaking, wallpaper peeling loud. I hope you don't have any neighbors close by for the morning cold start -- it sounds like a nitro dragster on the morning start.

I lasted about a month before I went back to the FabSpeed Generation-1 GT2 modular exhaust. It's loud too but sheesh man, not like the other. It sounds awesome at the track though. If you have the other fabspeed exhaust, you can switch them back and forth in less than 30 minutes.

Drove my car back today and it's wayyyyyyyyyy to loud for street use over here.

Luckily I did not pass a traffic cop, or I would not be typing this post!!

Am having my europipe fitted back tomorrow.

Cheers

I drove my GT3 on fabspeed muffler bypass pipes for a good 5000 street miles, wasn't too loud at all for my taste.

Rob , best move ever will be putting the exhaust back on, BELIEVE ME

I had straight pipes on my 996TT before my GT2, i lost TONS of low end power and torque, the sound was so unbearable that i didnt want to drive the car ever, goodluck!

Local exhaust man, build this

One video too http://youtube.com/watch?v=PVbzBFpDB8U

I'm pretty sure that car has more power now....and rpm-s comes much faster when idling.
When driving 60mph sound isn't very much louder than before...but when I hit throtle, then
