Opinions on 2004 GT3 on eBay
Hi, I've been following an auction on eBay for the last month or so, and the price has dropped down enough to where I'm incredibly tempted. From everything I've read here, it seems like a very good deal... is there something I'm missing?
Whoops... looks like I'm too new to post urls... if you search for 'gt3' and sort with the highest priced auctions first, it's the silver GT3 with a 'buy now' price of $70,985.00.

i saw the listing
i dont know about the car or the seller, but i have seen those pix several months ago. i dont understand why such a nice car (based on pix) hasn't sold and the $70k price is low. you need to do some due diligence and dig deeper. just sounds too good to be true for me.
the rear parcel shelf has cuts in it, indicates it had some sort of roll bar in there.
tracked? hit? stories?

Sorry, the forum software won't let me post a url because I just registered (I've been an unregistered lurker for a while now). The best I could do was describe how to find it on eBay... maybe the item number will help: 170095745694.
Anyway, the car is a 2004 GT3, from the eBay pictures it looks brand new. 12,700 miles, artic silver, full leather, cruise control, small carbon package, xenon headlights, and a couple other cosmetic options; original msrp was $112k.
As for why it hasn't sold on eBay yet, I guess that's one of the questions I was hoping to get answered here. It doesn't seem 'to good to be true', but it does seem very good.

I've seen the car listed ... looks nice ... I dunno ... doesn't have a TON of options ... but some carbon fibre (if you're into it). I would caution that digi pics seen on a computer can be VERY deceiving ... get the car checked out if you're interested. We've probably all jumped into bed with things we've regretted before ... right?

Someone else asked about this car, I believe, and I posted this same comment. I bought an ML55 from these guys, Expo Motorcars. It was delivered to me in CA as advertised. I don't know anything about this GT3, just that my experience with them was good.

On this car, good for the buyer, but sorry to see such a low price.

That car has been listed and re-listed several times. Not sure what is wrong with it but for a GT3 of that "perceived" condition and miles, etc., would go for way more than the 65K they are starting at and the 70K that will buy it now. Something's not making sense. Accident maybe?

Thanks for all the replies! I hadn't noticed the cuts in the package shelf, that was exactly the sort of thing I was worried about missing. That would have been an unpleasant discovery to make (assuming the dealer didn't disclose it).
I guess I'll keep waiting on the perfect car at the perfect price

I don't know the car, but with this kind of purchase, I would error on the side of being skeptical. Have someone in the area do an inspection including the zone 2 overrevs. Get a good inspection of the underbody for ANY SIGNS of repair .
