Hi, I'm a newbie considering buying a used '04 996 GT3. I found one where the owner had supposedly replaced the stock OEM springs (these were in the trunk of the car) with softer Porsche springs that maintain the ride height.
1) Wanted to confirm the springs I saw were actual OEM GT3 springs:
Red colored "H&R E/K" Springs with part numbers:
996 333 531 95
996 343 531 95
2) Does Porsche make softer springs for the GT3? Any part numbers?
Thanks for any help on this.
Best,
Mark

Hi;
Yes, the North America spec 2004-2005 996 GT3 came from the factory with red H&R brand springs.
996.343.531.95 front
996.333.531.95 rear
That was a waste of good suspension engineering softening the spring rate on the 2004-2005 GT3.

Thanks for the thoughts. The owner of the car still has the OEM springs, so if I move forward, probably a good idea to put those back in the car.
I also checked with a couple Porsche parts departments who told me that Porsche also produces another spring for the fronts:
Probably designated "Street" (unclear from a couple dealers)
996 343 531 97 504
Front
The dealers couldn't confirm if these were stiffer or softer. The dealers did not find an alternative spring for the rears, so I'm really curious as to springs the previous owner had put into his GT3?!?!
I'll see what I can find out...

According to another Renlister all the part numbers had the 504 extension on the end but I do not know what that means.
996.343.531.97 504 is the front spring for the 2004 996 GT3 RS street car which was not available in US
