First mod to my GT3. Quick Toe Link Question
So I decided to do the first mod to my GT3 this winter before the first DE event gets here. I decided to add the toe link kit from TRG (thanks Austin!) and just had a couple quick questions.
1. Can any shop install these? The closest raceshop to me is Synergy but that is still 1.5 hours away. I do have an indy here that I use but not sure about stuff like this.
2. If I can use my local indy, anything special they need to know or I should tell them?
Thanks!

They need to be able to properly align it. I would get it corner balanced too (this first time) just to make sure everything is right. If not, make the drive to Synergy.

Outside of having it properly realigned, it is a cake walk. I did one side while my wife did the other on the floor of the garage.
About the only thing that I can think of is to tell the shop that there is an eccentric bolt on the inboard side of the link so they remove the nut instead of putting an air tool on the bolt head and screwing things up.

LV, use Synergy on this. The owner is Cole and Greg is the crew chief. I think You will find that is a very healthy investment in Your time as You head up the GT3 trail.

I try and steer you down the yellow brick road straight to the wizards at Synergy... but no... you won't listen!
Yeah bud, I would let a race shop start you out on this path just as Glen said. They put mine on the lift and were impressed with the work and are able to work with this stuff. A great mechanic at my local dealer who I love took one look at it and shook his head. It takes the right people to work it, align and corner balance the car.
As I said, tell Greg I said hello.
Just remember they are busy until Rolex.

The more I thought about it Chris, the more I realized I need a race outfit to do this work and to know it is done right. Not saying that my indy can't do it but they don't have this type of experience. I know, I know, you rec'd Synergy as well. It just took a bit for it to register
Thanks

LVD, I'm at about the same place in GT3 ownership and experience as are you but I'm not as fortunate to have a shop like Synergy in my area here in the midwest. Is there anyone on the forum who knows of a shop with similar credentials in the midwest.... st. Louis, louisville, nashville, indianapolis?

Dell,
Go with a race shop. Plenty of things can go wrong, although it sounds simple.
Get new eccentric bolts, nuts and washers.
Improperly installed eccentrics can wear, strip, damage the subframe. Removing the old link from the wheel carrier using the traditional method, could crack or bend the wheel carrier. Bump steer needs to be measured and dialed-out after the install, by adjusting the ride height or using spacers on the new links.
