Does anybody have an idea on the weight difference between the stock seats that come with the GT3 car and the Porsche non adjustable GT3 seats? I started looking at 996 turbos, and are now looking at the GT3's.

If you miss your RSA get the GT3.
I beleive each seat is 30 lbs lighter than the factory sport seat.

It depends on which sport seats. Mine were full power and weighed a ton.

don't remember if the difference was quite that much but they are significantly lighter...if you want even lighter than euro GT3 seats get these carbon fibre GT3 seats from Arling at Lucent...

I had the sport seats (non electrical) and when I picked up the seat vs. the GT3 seats, they appeared to be of similar weight give or take a few pounds.

NO WAY! I changed my non-electric factory sport seats for the Euro GT3 seats and there is a significant weight difference. I would say at least 25 - 35 pounds per seat!

Impossible. That sounds like too much. Unless I was on steroids that day, the difference didn't seem that much. You can see how scientific this is

Stock US Sport Seats: 52 lbs each.
Stock US Power Seats with Lumbar support: 56 lbs each.
GT3 Recaro with Leather: 28 lbs each.
GT3 Recaro with Leather and Carbon shell: 26 lbs each. (I want those)

Matt looks like you were way off! Just kidding. Looks like 24# difference between the GT3 seats and the LIGHTER of the 2 sport seats (partial power). Pete, do we need to administer a steriod test?

Speak'n of RSA, my GT3 seats are featherlite compared to my stock cloth seats. I couldn't believe it.

In the RS article in Excellence, they said switch from sport seats to GT3 seats reduces weight 63 lbs. I would expect that to be a couple lbs more for power seats. I know that the Techequipe rollbar with the harness bar weighs 27 lbs (actual weight when mine was shipped), but basically a wash for those of us who removed the rear seats to install it.

Me thinks NJ-GT has been stripppping cars in his spare time.

From previous posts we had about a 45 pound weight reduction with install of a pair of GT3 Euro leather seats over the base sport seats. This is close to NJ-GT's data, which calculates to a 48 pound savings.
