I think I know who car this is, I believe it belongs to Bill @ Rennworx - he normally lives on the 6speedonline board. It's going to take a look to put this car back into any sort of shape.

Works here! The damage doesn't look to be to the frame, just suspension components and most of the body. Seems like the body work is what would have totaled it. I think it would be a good candidate for a carbon fiber composite race car. Probably 5k in suspension/misc. parts, another $15-20 in body work. That puts you at about 65k...hmm

Do you think you could get $25k, let along $30k out of the brakes/engine/tranny? My experience parting cars has never been worth it, so I am unsure. A car like that would carry about a $10-$15k tag at an auction, not $30k.

I just logged on to post it...

It's hard to tell how much the tub is tweaked, but looking at the angle of the hit I would be afraid that it's enough to warrant wwaayyyyy to much headachey work to wind up with a car that might not stay aligned and eats tires.
I second the motion to scavenge the motor and tranny for a wicked swap project. Now I want a theft-recovery Cayman sans motor... heh heh heh...

I can't see the e-bay pictures becuase of my firewall at work but I think this car is listed on 6-speeed as well. However in the 6-speed ad. the car was sated to have the Manthy 410 kit on the car and was priced 10K higher.

Has anyone see first hand a GT3 motor in the other cars? I was told they will not fit the cayman due to the oil tank. You would need to move it to a remote location or fab a new one..
