Default Track wheels...

I have slight road rash on two of my GT3 stock wheels.. Question is: If I think I would like track specific tires, should I just use my current wheels for my track tire set up and get a new set of stock wheels for street use? Or bite the bullet and get aftermarket wheels more suited for track use?

Thanks in advance.

IMHO... save the chewn up stockers for track duty and get a nice set of Kinesis, Fikse, or BBS for the street.

Roscoe, go with a set of light weight after market wheels for the track. The added benefits apart from the obvious reduced unsprung weight, is the convenience factor when changing tires!!

I use my stock wheels for my track duty and my Kinesis for the street duty. I personally don't see any reason to spend the extra money on a set of track wheels (especially $4K plus aftermarket wheels) to be used on the track unless you are racing. For DE use the stockers will do fine and will take the abuse that track wheels will be subject to. The weight of the stock wheels is definitely more than a set of aftermarket but this is very small when you can't drive the car to the fullest in a DE environment anyway. This is just my opinion though.

I have a set of the BBS three piece mag center wheels just for track use. The car feels more responsive with these significantly lighter wheels. For me, get the GT3 wheels repaired and buy a set of light weight wheels for track.
