Default cup holder =$600!!!!

I got the first estimate for the crash. The impact was hard enough that it broke the "two stage" cupholder. I did have a bottle of water in it.
$600.... can you believe it.

Yes, when you consider that bottle of water probably costs $2.17...

The first look is $8,600. This is the surface. I took it to a shop that does a lot of race cars as well. The unibody will need adjusted but the total bill will be less then $30K. I lease the car so I really do not care about diminished value. As long as the car drives well. I can not imagine that it can not be fixed. Cup cars are straightened everyday.

It can be fixed, its just a matter of whether the insurance company will deem it a financially viable option vs. just totaling the car and paying you off.

let the insurance company total it and pay you off.
you will get first option to buy the salvage.
maybe you can make money selling the parts?

there are plenty of nice gt3 cars for sale right now.
maybe even for less than you can get for yours from the insurance company.
you can always lease one if you want.

good luck!

I do not see them totalling the car. The damage will be less then $30K I would have been more if I had two cup holders. The tail lights are only $460 per side.

It would be nice though. See if a GT3 motor would fit in a Cayman

if it is close to $30k in damage,
you should push them to total it.
they will probably offer to do it anyway.
in addition to the $30k damage claim, the diminished value claim will be at least $20,000.
that would be a really tough car to sell even if it is repaired properly.
good luck again!

Total that thing already! You could'nt pay me to drive a bent GT3. Unibody will NEVER be the same. Sounds like the body shop just wants the work.

Talk about expensive parts, the stupid deck lid goes for $9,490. Don't ask me how I know that.
