Cup Steering wheel in a GT3 or GT2
#38
Really!! Only about 106,000 miles mind you! Car is still pretty tight for a 99. It is getting JIC coilovers (stiffer springs), Tarret toe links, AP upper control arms, RSS lower arms, GT3 sways, Guard plates for the factory LSD, full cage, 18x9/11 CCWs (19 inch rufs going bye-bye), Girodiscs+RS29s and off to the track we go!

I installed a 996 cup steering wheel a few months ago.
I used an OMP Hub for 996 GT3 and a Sparco Quick Release system
Obviously, as indicated in this thread, there is no airbag with this setup.
Do not use this if you do not have a proper racing seat and a 5 point harness !
My car is the 2005 black matte gT3 which is up for sale in this forum, and here are some pictures where you can see the steering wheel.

i just ordered the 997 OMP cup steering wheel with hub. Officially it does not fit because it's not supposed to be sold to road legal cars in europe (according to the seller: a big porsche parts company in europe) but it will fit perfectly they told me unofficially. So that's why i was digging up this old thread ;-)
Will look exactly like Daniels. Can't wait

Really interested in the 997 cup wheel. Fitting this to my 996 gt3 will really annoy/impress/humour my gt3 owning mates.
Can you post on how you get on with pics please. Could I trouble you for part nos and supplying dealer info
Thanks in advance
Mike

Two more things on this setup:
It is important to know that if you are tall you may not see the upper level of your dash, including RPM's
Also make sure the wheel is properly in place. There is a safety ring, but trust me, it is unpleasant to feel your wheel is loose, especially on a track, at speed.....
