OK, don't everybody jump on me at once .
The statement was more of relative similarity of the GT3 engine to the 996 vs the 993, as a response to a prior post. None of them are the same engines, not by a long shot. Guess I should not have used the words "same as".
The edited statement is, the GT3 engine has more similarities to the 996 engine than it does to the 993 engine. This statement is debatable, but that's why we are here in the board.
My fingers were too fast in making the prior admittedly laughable statement, but that's also one reason were here: to laugh at hurriedly made statements .
Anyway, I will be a 997 GT3 owner come fall of next year. And, I'm ordering mine with the sunroof, full leather, and cupholders!!!

Palting-your the man : ). Can you say you'll be the 1st in block with a 997 GT3? If the 996 GT3 had never come to shore I woulda kept my plain vanilla 996 which by the way fun at the track too the 997 GT3 sunroof and all would be my next acqusition-the 996/997 gt3 are such special machines. Thanks. I can't say I'll be the first in the area. The ealier allocations are assigned and paid for.
I've been looking at the 996 GT3 since they came across the pond, even had a short stint where I actually had a deposit for one and had the C4S up for sale. But, I just could not part with my C4S. The 997 GT3, however, is just so over the top, I just have to have one. By fall of next year, I may not even have to sell my beloved C4S to get the GT3.

When the GT3 shows up, you'll forget you even own the C4S. It's that much better!

Palting,
Even after you've sold your C4S, you will still have the GT3 and 987 so there's no reason for missing the C4S, I mean it's not like it's a 993 or something.
Kidding, kidding! I hope you're able to keep your C4S since you like it so much.
