The list I made (200 lbs off), I'd say about $10k-14k (a lot depends on what kinda seats, who installs roof, flywheel etc.).

Well removal of things isn't going to cost you anything other than your own time. Replacing things with carbon fiber pieces is obviously costly but I suspect that with $15-$20K you can do all that I listed. This is a very slippery slope...ask me how I know. You'll end up spending $50 on a smaller water reservoir just because it's lighter, right Finn?

Weell... I've seen people do that, among other silly things like that...

You might some times only save 0.5 pounds, i.e. a 993 RS storage box (instead of casette holder), but hey, if it's cool, it's cool!

you do a cf roof then you've got to run full cage...what's the net weight savings on that?

I don't think the thin layer of metal with a hole in it is any stronger/safer. Keep in mind that the roof panel in the 996/997 is not like the roof in the old cars where its one whole piece. In the new cars it's just a panel in the middle of the car.
