Now if only those GT3s were well driven, it would have made for an interesting run!

There were quite a few lotuses at pir the last 2 days. They look nice but they are not particularly fast compared to a gt3. In my last run today, I ran one down and closed through 4 and 5 and the guy looped it in 6. I guess he was trying hard!
The zo6 on slicks was extremely fast, at least when my dunlop super sport races went off at about 10 laps in. The vette only seemed to pull my gt about 2 lengths on the front straight and I could close it up in the braking zones.
The elises look like fun but they ain't no gt3.
The only car that really made me go ahhhhh was the challenge stradale. That thing is beautiful, and he was running 19" PS cups; he was thanking Porsche for putting 19"s on its new cars.
Roberga, great to see you again. It was a fun 2 days although the viper driver who looped it coming out of 12 and hit concrete and the c5 driver who got flat bedded home seemed to have less fun the the pcar guys.

Finally, I have found a GT3 MK1.
1999, 7 years old, I am not sure it is reliable?
I don't want to fix things so offen.
I guess for street use it will be fine, but it is mainly for tracking. Any comments?
Also I have found a new Exige S, this must be reliable, but....
if the GT3 is also reliable than I want the GT3 more, even it is used.
So I need comments about the 7 years old GT3, is that reliable?

Elise is the better handling car. No power steering, very very light (1900lbs) makes it move like a motorcycle on wheels. GT3 is very good, but it does not have the precise feel you get with the Elise.
Yep, it has a small engine and is a momentum car and that makes it more fun for me.
GT3 has an awesome engine, great handling but I think the Elise has more soul :-)

This does not mean a thing. GT3 has way more HP than the Elise and has a better aero package so naturally it is faster.
Either car is fun, I personally have more fun in the Elise than I ever had with my GT3.
I do agree about the 360CS, that is a car that is on my "To Own" list.

I see, you don't quite appreciate the difference between being a momentum car versus being slow
I recommend you go rent a Spec Miata and an Elise and then let me know
It is a lot more fun to pass someone by working at it than to just blow by them because you have more motor and BHP.
Anyhow, to each their own. I loved the GT3, and I love the Elise.

yes, GT3 takes SIGNIFICANTLY more skill to drive well than elise/exige. but i wouldn't recommend "learning" to track on a GT3. you will learn absolutely nothing other than soiling yourself. it's fast, it's hard eged, it will bite. now if you have had a bunch of RR cars, then moving to GT3 will be progressive. GT3 is a real bad ideal if you plan to drive it hard and haven't had any RR exp. and when i said get comfortable with it, short of god given talent, it will take 2-3 year minimum to be comfy with such a weapon.
MR vs RR handling. RR warns you and scares you before you lose it. it scares you so you wont push too hard and thus less fun and less likely to spin out. MR applauds on your talent as well as your mistakes, until you lose it. it's easy to push, then suddenly you realized you are out of talent, you spin but not warned. i know, this is rather simplistic, but it's a start.

I think it is incorrect to say that GT3 requires more skill than Lotus. Even with medium to low skill, one can drive the GT3 faster than most cars on the track. With a momentum car like the Elise/Exige (or an E30 m3, Spec Miata), you end up driving very very well since you have to keep the momentum going.
I do agree that it does take a high skill level to drive a GT3 at 100%.

I agree with you, I feel great when I keep the momentum going and I was pasting a Subaru STi S203 (300HP turbo AWD) in a BMW 316ti (115HP NA RWD) when we were racing in the down hill road !
