Cup car shocks on a street Gt3
for track purposes only. Has anyone else tried this? I have a set of Bilstein shocks( fresh rebuild) from a 2000 cup car, along with 1200lb back and 1000lb front springs. Added Mono ***** and Tarret toe link in the back. I had a really bad bounce, in the back, at first with a ride height of 102mm Fr and 108 mm Back. I lowered the rear perches 6 full turns and it seemed better but the front felt bouncy. Lowered the front 5 turns and it is slightly better. I may lower the front a bit more and try again but the back is about as low as it can go without hitting the fender. I noticed that the Bilsein cups were shorter in the back than the originals. Was I only riding on the springs or are the shocks badly valved? Any experience or advice?

I do not think the car should be that low..geometry issues...then get it corner balanced..with a good alignment and that spring rate is realy high. go with something lower..my 600/800 rates work realy well..car is stable at speed.
For valving you can call a shock guru Joe Stimola.. I think that's his name ..do a search.
What tire are you using? for that kind of set-up you would need something very sticky..to get the car to respond.
