Sunroof on a track day car = Danger

The new Targa must be a real death trap..."fixed aluminum roof" and "laminated twin layered glass panel ".
On a more serious note, here's what I found the most interesting: "A double-clutch manual-automatic gearbox will be a likely addition to the options list in the not-too-distant-future."

This driving ability argument is way off.
Porsche AG is marketing racing heritage and certain performance features in the GT3 model. The car is not improving in areas where it should and with some features it is going backwards.
For those who want these non performance items order one of the other nice Porsche vehicles.

if 99% of drivers cannot drive to the car's potential, you're saying that assuming there are 1000 GT3's in this country, there are 10 owner/drivers that can? (rolling eyes like an exorcism). sorry but I seriously disagree....
Bottom line is that a sunroof does'nt matter, but it's still crap..............

Keep in mind a panel with a hole in it must have sheet metal doublers spot welded the perimeter of the aperture, this, along with the [perimeter] folded return flange will greatly increase panel or assembly stiffness. Yes, its increased weight, but not necessarily less stiff.

I said that I personally HATE the idea of the sunroof due to the principle of the thing. I agree.
That said, I don't think that there are very many drivers who can say that a sunroof would in any way "hold them back" or materially effect their laptimes.
