Default Driving gloves

Apparently my hands are acidic. I couldn't figure out why the leather steering wheels in my cars were rapidly aging. Has to be the acid/oils in my hands.
I don't want to look stupid driving around in driving gloves, but when you figure the cost of a new steering wheel, the gloves sound better.

Good brands ?

My best friend (?) said he would loan me his oven mitts and they would look way cool, but that not quite what I wanted. Checked Griots catalog but came up empty.

can't you just protect the wheel with a solution of somesort that sprays on? My car is old and has not yet shown any leather wheel ware.

For gloves: MOMO, Sparco, PORSCHE Design off the top of my head. PM me if you like any of their particular styles.

Rather than gloves, I'd recommend Spinneybeck Leather Cleaner, applied regularly. This company sells a great product designed for their top drawer leathers out of italy. I converted to it from leatherique (way too aggressive) and Lexol (too sticky). www.spinneybeck.com

You now owe me a beer, since I have now saved you from relentless ridicule from friends, family, and strangers.

Jeff,
I faxed you a sixer. The oven mitts idea has some appeal.
