Which Motor Mounts to upgrade to?

X73 or 993 RS mounts are both great options. Depens on what you prefer, while 993 RS mounts (I have those in my 993) are little more comfortable solids aren't bad at all either.

With respect to my RS mounts in my 993, they did tighten-up the back end of the car leaving me a better and more connected -solid- feeling. Also improved the shift quality, but wouldnt do anything for the later cable shifted gearboxes found in these great cars.

Actually the cable connected shifters have a similar problem as seen in the 993. The cables are adjusted with the shift mechanism and tranny connections in a specific orientation or length, when the engine moves (twists)it changes the relative distance between the cable ends and thus the adjustment changes also.
The other issue is the shift in engine position and weight shift during turn in, which can lead to unpleasant suprises. This might be a bigger issue than the shifter problem.
The good news is, the fix is relativly simple. But the issue is, it wouldn't have had to be dealt with , if PAG had put the proper mounts in the car to begin with.
