I went to my dealer ready to swap out the red heads for PCCB on my 997 C4S.

Installed, about $19K. I am in a position to do it if I want and not worry about it, but it does seem excessive...

So what do I get to significantly lower my unsprung weight?

Some lighter rims?

Having said that, if the money really isn't an issue, the brakes are nice.

Great set of ultalight HRE's on the way.

No one I know is rich enough to waste $20K. If I drove a set back-to-back like some here it would help me decide.

Guess DE is in the cards for me this summer...

You should try mail-order instead and install them yourself. I vaguely remember places like Sunset advertising the PCCB upgrade kits for $8-9k USD?

$5,100 per rotor at sunset.

I had ceramics on my RS before swapping to alcon steels with RS29. Feel is very similar, no loss in stopping power, and I can't feel the difference in unsprung.

If you aren't rich enough to waste $20k, then I wouldn't bother. That's just my opinion though, and clearly there are some here who disagree

Road use only, I'd take them.

It turns out the old $8K price was a one-time PCNA warehouse inventory reduction sale.

For a strictly track-rat and non-raced GT3 has anyone priced out carbon-carbon blanks? I was told (not quoted) $1k per rotor (wholesale) plus another $500 for machining about two years ago.

A few weeks ago I had a look at some PCCBs on a well driven Manthey prepped car, and they were starting to flake. Not sure exactly how old they were or how many km were on them, but there seems to be some room for improvement yet. If I recall correctly only one of the discs was faulty, but for the money, it seems they should last a bit longer.
