Default C6R and the C6 ZO6...do they have a lot on common..

are they built in the same place, use the same parts.

I am locked in a debate with a Vette fan, my contention is the Vette's have a huge advantage in the ALMS over their competitors in terms of backing and developement

http://www.corvetteracing.com/cars/c6r/c6r.shtml

they are not built in kentucky. it is a purpose built racing car to the extent of its class rules.

The GM race cars Pontiac GTO's, Cadillac CTS-V's, C5R and C6R are all built by Pratt & Miller Engineering & Fabrication... http://www.prattmiller.com/home.php

That's like saying the Chevy's, Dodges and Fords in NASCAR are the same as the models you can buy off the showroom. Unlike the Gt3, which is basically the same car you see racing. Minus interior, exhaust upgrade and engine timing.

I saw Leighton Reese's Corvette race cars last week (I helped move them around in the
shop) and they look nothing like my buddy's C6. They are not even distant relatives!
RACE frame, suspension, brakes, engine is built from scratch, etc. These are race cars
from the BEGINING.
IMHO

Leighton Reese's car isn't an ALMS Corvette, it is for the Speed World Challenge. The C6R is in another realm than any production based class race car.
