Porsche was great with colors and very innovative in the 70's. Since then they've lost the plot completely. If they don't have any creativity at least bring back some of those colors.

If you decide to go with Porsche colors. There are two from the 60s/70s era that I think would look good on any Porsche.
Ice Blue
Petrol Blue (or was it Petrol Green)
These are very classic colors that are blue but with a hint of a couple other colors (mostly greens) in them.
Wonderful to look at.

Actually, seeing how daunting it is to sell an 84K car, I am probably going to trade it in when 997 GT3 is confirmed to be orderable without a sunroof.
The mrs and I agreed that paint to sample lambo orange it will be.
My current car is speed yellow 996 Turbo, because frankly, gray, black, silver, or what have you really makes cars like these look nothing special. Certainly not what the same car painted in yellow, orange, or red can do.

The current Ferrari racing red is Rosso Scuderia - one sees a lot of the Challenge Stradales in that bright, orangey shade.
I've gone the other way and used a Porsche color on a Ferrari - Maritime Blue:

"Newbs have red Ferraris, gentlemen have yellow or grey (Grigio Titanio) Ferraris.
Porsches look best in Porsche colours."
IMO, an F40 ought to be red, whether or not owned by a gentleman.
