Coolant leak
Why does Porsche continue to produce the POS plastic water recovery tank and the plastic lid... couldn't they make the parts out of thin aluminum?
By doing so they would facilate better cooling, and a more reliable system.
In putting in my LWF the techs drained the cooling system, and now I have a coolant smell through-out my car. The weight difference, if any, would not affect the cars performance.
The same thing happened on a 2000 996 I once owned. I hate the coolant smell and the ultimate results could be fatal to your engine if not closely watched.
I don't know why I took the time to write this...Porsche will do whatever makes them the most money

Drained the coolant? You can just use a hose clamp tool and only a few ozs is lost in the LWF R & R process. So like you say, it always is better to do more than you have to so you can charge the customer more money....
