e6tme and mooty are correct in the the lightest ones out there are the ZX3Rs from Forgeline and the Jongbloeds. I sell both, and they are great wheels. I had the previous generation SX3Rs on my turbo and they were BULLET PROOF. Many of the other manufaturers make wheels for show. Stick with either of these and you will not regret it. Also the BBS mag centers are very light, but stupid expensive these days...... Also for looks, they are a little outdated. But still a great track wheel.

oh, here is some more info about HRE and why to stay away from them

PS. BBS Racing Aluminum (2nd generation) are only marginally heavier than the MAG and much stronger therefore suited to use on the street as well.

BBS seem to make 2 types of wheels that people interchangeably refer to. Does anyone know the differences. I believe one type is referred to as the 'motorsport' wheel, and the other as 'LMs'. I'm guessing strength and weight, but the whole thing is very muddy and I dunno which is which!

Don't those require spacers?

you guys see the new 9ff wheel?

its supposed to be less than 15lbs...i can only imagine the cost.

there's a mention of it at http://www.eurocarboutique.com/pg.cfm?pgn=news

scroll down to the bottom.

The wheel looks pretty cool IMO - reminds me of the maserati MC-12 wheel.

BBS also makes at least 3 different centers and 2 thickness inner/outer halves. My understanding is that if you run the lightest setup the wheels are around 15/16, where the heavier (stronger) is like 20/21.

I own BBS w/ Al and Mg and Fikse Profil 5S . I think the BBS are lighter but the Fikse are stronger. Tough choice.
