Yes, I was waiting for somebody to be completely literal in their response.

In Porsche's case, I think it is as much a matter of convenience as anything else, register a car on the way to to or from home.

Not a fan of the wing either. Was comparing it to the 996 when I first saw this pic yesterday. Definitely a step backwards.

The 997 GT3s looks have really grown on me of late though.

I love the wing, that may be because of my insane love for form following function...if it needs to be bigger than go for it...this is the "no excuses, little to zero compromise" homologation special. It's not about comfort, it's not about elegant (sorry pcar, and I do know what you mean) or every day driveability. It's about performance!

Just for the record I would drive it everyday no matter how "harsh" it is, just like some drive their 996 GT3 RS' everyday. After all no matter how "harsh" they make it, they're still going to make it a heck of a lot softer than a cup car, which is almost undriveable on public roads.

Hey Porsche, read the next line!!

If it was form over function, the wing would be on the ally mounts the cup cars use. I detect the intervention of a drugged up stylist Wing looks a bit narrow too?

I still think it's done because it's more functional than the "regular" 997GT3 wing. And of course designers do have a say in it.

Its a mule anyway so I look forward to seeing the finished product. The production 997 GT3s look so much better than the spyshots etc.

i think its just the 15" PCCBs (6 pot) that are on the 997 turbo. note, they are located lower to the ground vs. the turbo (ie, lower center of gravity - the turbo pccbs are located at 10 o'clock vs. 9 on this RS mule).

If they are 8 pots, that would be great, but i think they are 6

I'm just going off the dates of publication for the patents and the fact that the patents for the regular GT3 front/rear bumpers, wheels, seats, steering wheel, rear spoiler, etc. were all published around the same time. Usually 3-4 weeks after patent publication PAG starts to allow "spy" photos of the actual cars to trickle out. It never even crossed my mind that the rear spoiler was from the cup car because PAG doesn't patent motorsports parts or hasn't up until now?
