Default Chrono package in GT3

Hi
is it true that the Chrono package in the 997GT3 is only a lap timing device? (as opposed to the Sports Chrono on the 997S that has a sport button to change throttle response etc)?
There is a 'sport' button on the GT3 as well but if my reading of the description in the brochure as well as the car configurator is correct, I think that the sport button is there whether or not there is the chrono packge.

anyone know for sure?

thanks!

The sport button is there for the PASM. It'll change from regular to stiff suspension. The Sport Chrono Plus should sharpen the throttle response and supposedly increases torque slightly. Didn't go for it myself as I didn't see myself making use of the very slight torque increase.

Hi Khalid
I think in the GT3 it's not called Sports Chrono plus - only Chrono package or Chrono package plus depending on whether you have PCM (i.e. the "Sports" is missing)....in the porsche website's description of the chrono package/plus for the GT3, there is no mention of sharpening throttle response or increasing torque...that's why I think the sharpening or increasing is available when you hit the sports button that is independent of the Chrono package.

I could be wrong but I think if it's true they should say clearly it is different from the sports chrono in the 997 and 997S.

Congratulations on your order...let us know what it's like!

Actually Sport Chrono Plus is available, only in conjunction with the PCM screen. It's option code 640 in the GT3 order guide that I used to order my car. There's also option 639, which is a Sport Chrono Package for orders without the screen. I knew the order numbers because I considered them before placing the order.

It's supposed to be April production and should be here in May. I'll let you guys know.
