Default Carrera GT steering wheel on GT3?

Does anyone know if it be possible to order a Carrera GT steering wheel along with a 2007 GT3 and have it installed via the Porsche Exclusive Program at the factory....I think the Carrera GT just uses some type of 996 steering wheel but I find the look of the 997 steering wheel with its painted silver plastic parts atrocious......

How about asking for the silver parts to be painted in black or to match it with the interior colour by having the offending parts wrapped in leather. The factory would never install a 996/CGT wheel on your 997. You might be able to though.

As you said, GT wheel looks like 996 steering wheel so once your GT3 is here have 996 steering wheel installed.

I'm not a big fan of 997 steering wheel either but personally I'd put Porsche Motorsport Wheel (Momo 07) instead. In fact, that's what I have in my car. Doesn't come with airbag but that wheel is the best and looks the best IMO.

I don’t get who at Porsche is sitting there thinking the 997 steering wheel design is acceptable, especially after the best one they made was the 996 three spoke wheel. I’d definitely do a retrofit on that...

Agreed. 997 steering wheel looks like it belongs on a VW (and not the GTI ). It looks really cheap & ugly.

I second what the Finn said...go with the motorsports wheel, besides airbags are over-rated

Motorsports wheel as installed as standard in my Cup car. But I can't believe that anyone would give up the airbag for a car driven on the street. Seems like an unacceptable risk for what is a cosmetic issue.
