New GT3 Owner!!
I know that everyones attention has shifted to the impending arrival of the 997 GT3, however I have recently taken delivery of my new (to me) 2004 GT3. What an amazing machine!!!! The intent is for a 10 - 12 DE's per year, as well as a fun daily driver for a couple days a week.
Quick question for all the current and previous owners: For DE's ....... what are the recommended COLD tire pressures F & R ? (It presently has Michelin Pilot Sports). And secondly, I have read SO MUCH about the importance of alignment. What are the alignments specs you are are using for the track?
Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks!

Make sure you get rid of the tire dressing. It will bleed on to the surface and effect traction. It will also spill on to that great red paint. With whom do you DE? A friend of mine is an instructor with Chin down there. Is at Homestead a lot. Enjoy the car. It is the most fun car I have ever had.
Ask around locally as to where folks take their GT3s. Maybe the Porsche club. Will you autocross and DE? A good shop will ask a lot of questions and set it for you. I use a local shop that 1: does most of the locals 2: Owner is engineer for Alex Jobs and one of his guys works for White Lighting. Experience is key.

for alignment, do a search. my car is aligned rather differently than everyone else, so i dont want to screw you up.
with pilot sport 2, i start at 32/32 cold, aiming for 38/40 hot. this is in CA, i dont now how much hotter and what the FL humidity will do to the starting cold temp figures.

Forget cold.
Set door jam PSI as HOT for the track.
Go out and drive for a session, come in and lower the PSI to what the door says cold. That is good for a street tire at a DE.

congratulations IB....beautiful 3...if you are going to track very much you will want/need safety equipment soon...minimum tequipment roll bar...I prefer racing seats and 6 point belts but whatever makes you comfortable...you will find yourself sliding all over that sport seat when you get up to speed...let the mods begin!

And congrats to the new GT3 owner. You will be glad to have the 996 varient in the long run...

Thanks guys for all the good advice & kind wishes!! I already have the TechArt rollbar, the Euro GT3 seats, and the 6 point harness ....................... all waiting for installation hopefully this week. Safety First!!
