Default Anyone know how to read a DME report

I posted this on the turbo forum but have not gotten any feed back yet.

I have been entertaining the idea iof purchasing an X-50 in addition to my GT-3.
I have gotten a DME printout as listed below:

number of ignitions range 1
9,444 266 h

number of ignitions range 2

60 258.8 h

Thanks in advance for your help.

range 1 and 2 are rev situations.
range 1 is up to the rev limit.
range 2 is over the rev limit.
for example, the 9,444 is the number of of ignition cycles, and this happened at 266 hours.

I thought range one was hitting the rev-limiter, range two was either mechanical over-rev or spinning and the wheels moved backwards. The time is the hours of operation the last event occured at (only really relevant if you know the current total so you can work out how recently it happened).

So, is #2 saying there were 60 range 2 over rev, and the last one was at 258.8 hours?

I think so. If I remember correctly the number 60 will relate to the number of times the crank does a 360 degree rotation - so at 7000rpm that would be 120 per second and so 60 should mean it was in that zone for half a second.

Thanks for your answers back. I think I need to do more research to try to get a detailed analysis of the number two over revs. It appears to me that I just have the information of the last number two over rev and not necessarily a printout of all the number two over revs.

I don't think that is correct - a very low number for range 2 is normal, you won't get any more information from the DME than you already have. It is now up to your judgement if that affects your decision to purchase the car.
