Post GT3 fat steering wheel

Dealer tells me that the fat steering wheel, option CPZ, has dissappeared from order list for GT3. First cars built had wheel available, anyone else been told this.

Yes, it was available for the first cars, but has it really been discontinued for future GT3 orders.

Option CPZ - Thicker Steering Wheel - $675. Was available in first order guide released 2/6/03 and current order guide dated 4/17/03. Have your dealer check again.

I'm not getting a GT-3 anytime soon, but have considered getting the thicker wheel.

Anybody know if you can still get it as an individual part?

If so, is it a DIY job or is it best left for a dealer? I worry about airbags blowing up in my face etc.

TIA

Why would they discontinue?

Porsche might discontinue the option until supplies catch-up with demand.

Dealer to check on Monday with PCNA. It's in ordering guide but PCNA ordering server would not accept the CPZ option when typed in. <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

PAG is notorious for miss judgeing expected order quantities. They always seem to err on the low side on specialized performance options and then get overwhelemed.

PAG are notorious for omitting options that should be standard to a premium vehicle.

I also heard that the colored gauge faces were unavailable. A friend tried to submit an order for white faces and it got rejected.

Viken and all,

Received update from my dealer today. I am told my GT3 has completed production as the document I received states order status....cmpprd. My car is coming with the thicker steering wheel which is included on the options section.

Any idea what an ETA would be? I was also told that they were not sure if Porsche was staying at the $99,900 base price as that was subject to change as per order guide. Anyone know about this?
