GT2 is one of the best cars you can get, period. Asking price sounds a little too low, though. Makes one wonder if the car has been hit or if there is some "story" to it. GT2s with more miles than this car have been sold for $115K+

If you are going to have a RUF Convert, and as long as the frame is sound, you should not need a warranty.

Price sounds low,
what is reason?
As "WATT" says, life is to short to not own a GT2...

Is this a real GT2, the ad says "Traction Control System". Don't think so on a GT2 huh! Is this not just a GT2 badged, front bumper and rear wing Turbo?

Can somebody verify the VIN?

Ciao,

Johannes E.

Priced a little to good to be true. Get a paint meter on it before pulling the trigger...the meter does not lie!! If you know someone at a Porsche dealer, have them read the computer to see how hard the car has been driven. They will be able to tell you if the motor has been over reved and if so, was it done a lot. Also, have them check the suspension. If it is original, it should be covered in cosmoline. I did this for the first car I considered and the Porsche tech was very willing to share the information with me...I passed on the car
after flying from PA to CA and paying for a dealer inspection.
Best, Pete

Are you sure this is a GT2? The sales person obviously does not know. The ad lists "all wheel drive" and "traction control system" neither of whcih come on a GT2. So, it would have to be a normal turbo redone for a GT2 look. If that is what you want, then do more checking.

Red993TT,

I had a 2001 Turbo converted to Ruf Rturbo spec and loved the car. In 2004 I bought a slightly used GT2 (457 miles). I kept my Turbo for about 3 months and then realized I had no use for it. I drove them for the same reason, a little weekend fun or occasional track day. When I went to choose, unless I was going a long way and needed a good stereo the GT2 was always the choice.

The GT2 is a wonderful car and very entertaining to drive. If you go with Ruf 550 or Nardo motor you will be very happy (even coming from a 3.8L 993TT). I would recommend you take your time in finding a car and be sure to understand the history. Many have taken a hit of some sort. If you find a clean 1 owner car at a price you like, jump on it.

Check autotrader.com and cars.com for cars. There was a Silver/Blk 1 owner car in the LA times classifieds with 4.5K miles yesterday. Most likely also on cars.com also a Speed Yellow one at McKenna Porsche in LA. Newport Porshe in Newport Beach has a couple, but they have been getting big numbers for them. IN fact they recently purchaed a 2003 from the LA times with 880 miles for $137.5K and resold it for $160K. That is certainly outside the norm.

If you want red do a search, as another board member posted a bunch of photos of a very nice red car available for sale at Motorsports International. There are not many red or yellow GT2's. There are a bunch of silver and black ones, a few seal grey ones and very few other colors in the USA.

Good luck with your search you won't regret owning a GT2.

Thanks for the input. Having own a 3.8 L 993tt, any modded 996tt just do not do it for me . The R GT2 seems like logical choice for stepping up.
