Default GT3 Harnesses

I am being informed that installing a harness in the GT3 also requires a roll bar.

Doesn't the GT3 have an integral roll bar already?

you can go with a harness bar however that will leave you at more risk if the car does roll. The harness will keep you sitting upright as the roof is colapsed if you roll.

Get a roll bar with the cross brace & proper seats if you plan to use a harness.

Don't gamble with safety.

I went with the OEM bar, seats and harnesses. Could not be happier with fit, quality and performance.

I am assuming I can't use that OEM roll bar with the regular seats (without the holes at the top?)

What does a setup like that run?

GT3 seats from Branywine - new @ $2,500.
Techequipment rollbar from Farnbacher Loles - new @ $1,000.
Porsche harnesses from Carnewal - new @ $700.
Plus @ $500 installation.

All items can be purchased from most dealers. I probably paid a few dollars more for the rollbar but I did not need to worry about shipping as F/L installed everything for me. The cost of the harnesses is subject to current exchange rates. Again there is a possibility of doing better on those or getting non-Porsche items. I think Brandywine has the best deal on new leather seats.

Also installation is supposedly not that hard. Look at Rockitman's install guide. I just did not have the time to do it myself and as stated did not have to deal with shipment of rollbar.

I recently had the OEM Recaro GT3 seats, Sparco harness and GMG roll bar installed.

After one track day and a month of street driving, I can say that the GT3 seats totally transformed the feel of the car to me. I will never ever go back to the stock seats in this car.

The purchase and install will run around $4-5k for everything. After watching part of the roll bar install, I am really glad I didn't try it myself. The seats go in pretty easy, but the roll bar can be very tricky.

CME's is the way to go. The bar install can drive you an anger management program... but there is a lot of help on this forum. That is what I did and was happy that I saved the $$$ for the install.

Seats are a no brainer. Just follow instructions. Devek had great pricing when I did it a couple of years back. Call and ask for Austin

make sure whatever harnesses you go with are Hans approved if that's the H&N device you choose. To track your car without one(H&N) wearing harnesses is just plain dangerous...I have the 3" Schroth Profi III. There is also a 2" shoulder belt option too.

I have the tequiptment rollbar and simpson six point harness's. Standard sport seats.
Checked with a very reliable specialist in track safety before installing. He said no safety issue. This configuration allows the access to back "seat area" and also allows you to continue to have the street belts stay. Great choice for daily driver and Drivers Ed car combination.GT3 seats are awesome but limit your options. enjoy your GT3 it an awesome car.

Anyone have the GT3 seats and use the car as a daily driver? How do they compare to the regular seats?
I am seriously considering upgrading to a DE configuration that will hold me more securely into the seat during DE's.
Suggestions?

Big diference. for DE and weekend driving OK. But dayly and long drives, I am sorry but you get a little sick of not having any pading and feeling every single bump. Then again if you got a GT3 and is also your daily driver you know that these car was not built for confort
