Yeh but the white looks pretty good on this car, I still think I am going for the artic silver.
Watt, couldn't get the search function up to search for hamman, I have just put a deposit on a 2/04 allotment slot from Michael Schwartz @Schneider-Nelson Porsche in W Long Banch NJ, that's a easy day's round trip for me when the car comes in and the spring delivery timing (hopefully) works pretty well for me. He's got two more 04 slots if anyone else is interested, 732-935-7600.
I got his name from a posting someone else did a few weeks ago here on Rennlist so I owe that persoon a few drinks or maybe a few quick laps around Summit Point or VIR next year--Thanks--Jay

Watt,

I'd think your car should be arriving at port fairly soon. Have you checked with the dealer to see what boat it's on? They should be able to tell you the estimated arrival date.

The latest word is that PCNA hopes to release the cars from PDI by the first week in August but I ain't holding my breath.

64lusso -
Good deal! Mike S. is a "good guy" , and I'm sure that car will be a hoot @ Summit!
Round trip in a day, though??? Not bad - it takes me 4.25 hours from my house to Times Square.....

I hope you are all correct on the early August release of the GT3. Mine got here this week and my dealer is telling me to expect it at the dealership on Sept. 1st.

JeffES, Well the round trip would be flying into Newark early in the morning and trying to work my return route to miss the rush hours on the way back to C'ville, while trying to figure a way to drive at variable speeds and still not loose my license on my first trip in the car!
MikeS overnighted me the sales agreement as well as a little hardbound book on the GT3 which I guess most of you may have seen but I was not aware of.

Watt,

That boat, the Seven Seas, is supposed to arrive in San Diego tomorrow. It should be in PDI by Friday. There it will sit with the rest of the cars until Bosch, Porsche, and the EPA get their act together. I haven't heard anything lately, so I'm still hoping for an early August release but in this case, no news is usually NOT good news!

64 lusso-that was my post a few weeks ago that turned you on to michael schwartz. i am happy that you were able to find your gt3. michael has always been very fair with me, and i am sure that your experience with him and his dealership will be good. by the way, if you give me that lap, i will buy you lunch. good luck with the car.

Just talked to my sales guy. His PCNA rep is telling him that they expect to receive the EPA certification today or tomorrow and to begin releasing cars out of PDI early next week. They want to get them all sold before the end of the month, which means they are probably having a soft sales month and need the extra $, so hopefully that will motivate them to move quickly.

With any luck, there should be 20-30 GT3's finally hitting the streets in NA next week.

Great news Karl,
I will be looking forward to some great first impression thoughts here very soon. I have been lurking on a UK GT3 mailing list recently and the series 2 as they call it is getting some very favorable talk, even from current series 1 owners.
Doc, Thanks again and I will put you down for a few laps of Summit Point next year, I can taste that chili now!

With all the fun chatter about the 997 GT3 I thought it might be fun to look at this old thread.

US spec 996 GT3 in lock down.
