Default Recent mods to my GT3

Blew a wad of cash recently to give the GT3 a mid-life makeover. In addition to a new paint job and windshield, I went with the following performance mods :

- LWFW/clutch
- Cargraphic 411hp tuning kit (ECU, headers, cats, r-exhaust)
- Cargraphic race/sport street suspension (used in the Tuner GP car)

In 2 words : #!$%ing awesome!! The sound is fantastic and the tuning kit/LWFW combination makes the car a whole lot punchier (not that the stock car is slow by any means). Seat of the pants feel, the horses are for real. The suspension (modified to Cargraphic specs by Bilstein) feels wonderful and rides no harsher than stock. Can't wait to track the car 2 weekends from now. Got a brand new set of Michelin slicks waiting at the track for me too.

Car looked like it's been sandblasted after so many convoy runs. Extensive stone chips in areas not covered by the 3M clear film.

Thanks for the compliment Fongster. Will report back after the Sepang test next week.

Anyone else out there tried the Cargraphic tuning kit and suspension mods? I had a similar Cargraphic kit on my Mk1 GT3 but the latest generation is much improved - build quality, sound and performance.

I have the full 411hp kit on my car.Works very well and the noise from the R-System is stunning.

Sounds like fun Weng. Congrats. Not sure when but I hope to catch up and compare notes. I recall seeing your Mark 1 GT3 too with the modified suspension (seemed more or less stock height). ..just curious if your Mark 2 GT3 now sports the same (or almost alike) ride height as any stock Mark 2?
All the best ...... until the 997 GT3 catches your fancy !

Weng,
Heard all about your conversion and how good the ride feels. Your already producing good timing on track, wonder how much better you'll do now, wat to go and good luck for your next track session.

Ran, Mk1 had the stock suspension. For the Mk2, I've altered the ride height that was set on the Cargraphic suspension when it was shipped over. It was a bit too low for city use. I've jacked up the ride height to be within the standard Mk2 factory-recommended range which works better with the full slicks anyhow as an excessively low ride height results in a bit of fender rub with the higher profile slicks (and the camber settings that I've been running).

Shane, I'm loving the kit but I did notice a small flat spot in the 2,500 rpm range. Irrelevant on track but definitely noticeable in normal highway driving within speed limits. Did you notice the same? In the Cargraphic kit for the Mk1, there was a similar flat spot but at c. 4,800rpm instead which was most definitely noticeable during spirited driving.

The kit which has the components you describe above is rated at 394hp on the C/G website
