Default How much difference does it make.......

I drove another 3 that has the RS wing, and it felt MUCH more planted thru the turns than my car with the 8 degree shims. I already have the right alignment and both cars were set up by the same person so it must be the wing. Not an inexpensive item, but it seems to really make a big differnce. I also hear that it has lease drg too. Before I commit to it, any thoughts, opinions, observations, insight, wisdom. etc. Thx.

I've only driven mine at Laguna (not a super fast track) with no shims and it didn't seem to make a difference to me.

Since then I've put in the 4 degree shims but I haven't driven it yet at the track.

Richard,

Get the RS front bumper as well -- they were designed to work together. John's car has both. It was a great seeing you at the track yesterday.

I've got the RS wing with the 4 degree shims and it feels more planted to me. You do give up a few mph in the straights though.

I have both the wing and the front bumper as well. Evan suggested I get the motorsport lip as well to help the balance but I haven't done that yet.

It feels more planted above 100 mph, imo

Looks perfectly matched to my untrained eye in bright sunlight and in the garage. I didn't paint it.

Kevin,

What is the "motorsport lip"? Sounds like you should have to go to a massage parlor for that part

Similar to the RS lip, but the bottom edge is deeper around the sides of the car. Probably more likely to catch on ramps, but its cheaper than the RS one.

I have been using the RS wing with 4 degree shim and Cup front splitter. Definitely is a big improvement at speed compared to stock wing. The car feels more planted and is less unsettled when braking or lifting at high speed. Confidence inspiring.

I'll second that emotion. RS wing with Cup car splitter is the ticket. I've used them at Fontana at over 160 and it was very stable. I also have the RS intake grills that add downforce to the front and balance out the wing.

You don't need the RS bumper (although it looks pretty). If you do use it, then you should take advantage of the extra cooling holes by upgrading the radiator, otherwise it is just cosmetic. I might do this, but I will put the cup car radiator upgrade on it if I do. So far, no cooling issues whatsoever.

That RS nose looks like an exact match on 4Kurve's car!
Kurve's would it be alright with you if you shared your VIN with me? I'd like to check out the paint coding. This is very interesting.
Thanks,
Austin

Code Red,

you shouldn't run any extra splitter, 4 deg or 8 deg, WITHOUT the front splitter.
All you are doing with the shims is putting more downforce on the rear, thus making the front lighter, so I'm not surprised that your car feels loose.
