MPSC 295/30/18 separating?
This slice ( Pics below) was found after about four track days in July .I thought it was from debris on the track and bought a new set.
Last weekend, I was helping a friend( Perry) switch to rains and noticed the same slice, although not as large a gap, in one of his rears. Later in the day, Racerron told me he had one of Bob's tires in the shop with the same slice. I don't think we all ran over the same piece of debris. I know it was Bob's left rear and I believe mine was the left as well. We drive the track clockwise so, the left wear the most.
Michelin rep. was at the track that day and did not know what it was. He took the two tires that were there and I will be dropping off the third tomorrow. Has anybody else seen this? Or was this a bad batch or road debris? This is my tire.

This is Bob's
The cut is not into the groove in any of the tires affected. The cord is visible on my tire? Have more pics but none of Perry's tire. His is almost identical to Bob's in every way.

Scary, I thought so.
This is another of Bob's tire. I think you can make out that the cut/ slice/ separation does not continue through the grooves in the tire. I must have driven on mine for a longer time than the others.

Sorry Bob, I guess I should have covered up the
sensitive stuff! I saw the nail and had it examined by a roofer ( they own the garage I rent and use the other half for their business) who said it was very old. He said they haven't made them that short in a long , long time.. Where have you been hanging out? Anyway the nail had nothing to do with slice/ separation. I thought mine was an Isolated case until I saw Perry's and yours. The Michelin guy is going to have them examined and let me know. He wanted to have all the tires that may have been affected. He believes that both Perry's and my tires were from the same batch.

Could be a Tremblant issue. Don't know, I guess I could go
out for a track walk later on this week. I am curious what Michelin will say. I still really like the tires and have two sets on rims at the present time with no intention of changing.
" you know the long list."
No, could you remind me.

Interesting. My guess would be that it's related to a defect in tire construction. Michelin should be able to track the birth history of the tires and see if they came from the same batch.
I've run through 3 sets of Cups and none of my tires ever had slits like yours, and I've had them down to the cords. However, I run 285/30/18's and not 295's.

OK Mike, so what's the batch/date code? I'm running them too and we probably bought them around the same time, I didn't see anything on mine, but I ran two more sessions after the rain and haven't looked at them yet.

Bruce, the only tire I have is Bob's.
The other two are with Touchette. Don't know which #'s you are looking for so here is everything I could find

We should probably avoid buying matching stuff for our cars. We don't seem to have a good track record!
